Opening of Accounts

Residents Business (Local Currency)

Minimum documentation required (of the company)

  • Articles of Association and bylaws that must stipulate the inclusion of Art. 2554 of the Civil Code of the Federal District and its equivalent for the relevant state and must contain the seal of entry in the Public Registry of Property and Commerce.
  • * If the registration is not available it is necessary to submit a notarised letter indicating that the documents are in the registration process.
  • Federal Taxpayers Registry (R.F.C.)
  • Register of the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP)
  • Proof of address of the company (lighting, water, property taxes, telephone) no more than two months since issue.
  • Two bank and two trade references.
  • Letter requesting the opening of the account.

Minimum documentation required (of the proxies and signatories)

Identifications and powers of the legal representative of the proxies of the company (IFE for nationals and for foreigners FM3 or FM2 depending on their immigration and passport status, current).

Mexican Pesos (MXN)

Person responsible for the receipt of documents and supplementation of the file

  • Account Executive (appointed by International Desk)

Time (days) in which the account is operational*

  • Once the law department has issued an opinion and the contracts have been signed by the client, no more than 2 days for the account to be activated

Does the signature of the opening contract require physical presence? If the answer is NO, what are the alternatives?

  • Minimum opening amount = $ 10,000 MXN
  • Proof of domicile visit (filled by the executive)
  • KYC form (filled by the executive)
  • Companies with high-risk economic activities (exchange houses, casinos, arms trade, etc.) must have the approval of the Money Laundering Prevention Unit

Resident Companies (Foreign Currency)

Minimum documentation required (of the company)
