Forfaiting – purchase of export receivables without recourse
Forfaiting allows to mitigate the risk of transactions and improve the financial liquidity of enterprises owing to which, exporters strengthen their market position.
- In addition, forfaiting helps to increase the financial liquidity of enterprises.
- Mitigation of the risk of delayed payment or non-payment, of the credit and political risk of the importer’s country as well as the risk carried by the transfer of funds and interest rate.
- Limitation of the fx rate risk to the period calculated from the day of concluding a trade contract to the date of purchasing receivables.
- More attractive market position owing to the possibility to offer deferred payments to importers.
- Forfaiting is the quickest and cheapest method of financing transactions.
- Conditions are negotiated individually.
- Possibility to execute payments before the date set out in a given contract.
- Forfaiting consists in Santander Bank Polska purchasing export receivables with deferred payment terms, secured by a L/C issued by Santander Bank Polska or by own or banker’s B/E guaranteed by the bank whose risk is accepted by Santander Bank Polska. The amount of paid out receivables is reduced by discount interest due to the Bank.
- It is possible to finance up to 100% of the value of receivables with payment terms deferred up to 1 year.
- Forfaiting is not included in the credit exposure limit.
